A) I think that you are legally entitled to ask for them as many times as you want.
B) The electronic copy doesn't disrupt the processing, unlike getting a copy of the paper files.

Is there harm in continuing to order them? I ordered and received them once and the day I got them I ordered another set.

We've done the same thing: got the file, requested it again :) It didn't seem to do any harm. More so, it seemed to do some good, because after each request something happened that moved the process along :D Maybe it was just a coincidence, but the pace really increased after we've started ordering the file over and over :D

I would have thought that it would be completely separate parts of the organization that did the application processing and the file extraction from GCMS.

Hey i know its off track but i want to ask what is meant by SA's MET FOR STATUS: PASSED (its first line on 2nd page )

Is that where they are confirming that the sponsor is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident? (therefore, eligible to sponsor)

You know, I'm not sure that is right. Just looked at mine and that bit is obviously part of the block on the preceeding page. Normally SPR relates to the sponsor. PI is the principal immigrant. (<- updated)

No idea...

As I said, it may very well be a coincidence, I will never know :) If we would have access to people with similar stories going through the same VO, we could do a study. See what happens if half of them request their files every month and the other half just waits ;D ;D ;D

Still, I would recommend everyone to request the file once a month, beginning 2-3 months after the file was transferred to the VO.

I think it certifies the fact that the application falls into the Family Class. It's obviously part of the "sponsorship - family class" block.

I see what's wrong... it should read like this...

SA's Met for:
<new-line>
Status: PASSED.

These are two separate lines and the first does not have an entry... (it may have been redacted)

what does "Category: WVR group means?"

Do you mean after the AOR from VO? I'm wondering when I will request notes. Just sent app in dec. ecas says VO received same date. But AOR came jan 16. Should I say 2-3 months from now? Thoughts anyone! :)

I don't want to rain on your parade, but don't trust the CIC call center. If you call again tomorrow and ask about background checks, you might find another agent tells you they haven't begun yet. One thing I learned about them is that most of them will tell you anything they THINK you want to hear just to get you off the phone. Sad, but true.

Confirmed!! :) Background checks don January 16, 2014... waiting now for them to contact Canadian embassy Manila for my dependent ;) woot woot!
