GC Key Question

Hi all. Not sure whether this has been asked before or not, so please excuse my ignorance.

For the GC Key (linking application) is it necessary to link the application for the principal applicant as well as the sponsor, or can I just link for the principal applicant? Not sure whether we need to have two separate accounts for any reason. At the moment, we only have the application linked to the principal applicant’s GC Key account. We don’t want to accidentally miss any important communication.
