Gap in Education

I have a gap of 1 year twice between continuous years of study wherein once I failed in class 10th and second time was preparing for medical entrance exam.Please advice as to how this gap can be shown in the application under details of my education.

Just say "Student" or "Studying" in the gaps.

A Friend of mine had a similar situation, he is now in Edmonton, it didnt matter
though he was from the old lot i.e. 2005
