Good day,

I really don’t know how to bring my family for 2 or 3 month. I have a PR and it has being 14 years since i saw them. I would love them to come & see their grand kids and stay 1 or 2 month.

Thank you

Where is your family from? Most likely they’ll need a visitor visa ( aka TRV). There is a visitor visa section to this forum with all the info you need.

You can apply for a TRV or a supervisa (if you meet the income requirements). Don’t ask for 2 months with a TRV, particularly if they have limited travel history. Ask for 2-3 weeks. Most (not all) entries are granted for 6 months. They, not you, need to supply strong proof they are going home and have the finances for the trip with a TRV.

A supervisa allows them to stay up to 2years, but does require a medical and medical insurance for you parents.

You can find better answers in the visitor section of the forum from bryanna, bellaluna or Scylla.

They either need to apply for a TRV (tourist visa) or, if you meet the income requirements, you can apply to bring them here on a super visa.

How did you obtain your PR status? Through which immigration program? Have they traveled to countries requiring visas in the past (e.g. US, UK)? What ties to their home country can they show (e.g. employment, property ownership assets)?

Through refugee status. They never visted Europe and North America, mainly inside africa only. They own land and one of the biggest factory in the country for sure they will need to go back.

Given the large number of Eritreans applying for asylum in the world you may have some difficulties getting a TRV but you never know until you try!

Considering you claimed refugee status in Canada, unfortunately the chances of your parents ever being allowed as a visitor to Canada (either via TRV or Supervisa) is incredibly slim. IRCC will have a very strong suspicion they will also just claim asylum when they arrive.

However it doesn't hurt to try.

You can try applying for a TRV - but as others have said, there's a high chance of refusal. Forget about asking for a 2-3 month visit. That's far too long and demonstrates they don't really have strong ties to their home country. Request 2-3 weeks at most. When they apply, they will want to provide as much evidence as possible of their strong ties to Eritrea (business ownership, tax statements showing income, property ownership, bank assets, etc).
