30 hrs per week is full-time. Any hrs worked per week exceeding 30hrs is still regarded as 30 hrs per week.

No, more than 30 hours are not degraded as 30 hours. Minimum full time job must have 30 hours or more. However, if you have 40 hours it will add more credit to you.

@Sirgic, this is not true.

CIC insists on 30 hrs per week. Any more is still deemed as 30 hrs per week. The standard for 1 year is:

52 weeks * 30 hrs

Otherwise people working more than 30/hrs could complete their year of service in less than 52 weeks. This is the logic behind the definition.

Can you please provide me with the source indicating the +30 hours/week will not be considered?. Thanks in advance.

No - it won't. It doesn't matter if you work 30 hours in a week or 90 hours. It's still just counted as one week of work.

I appreciate it if you can list the reference indicating so. Thanks scylla

Here you go ---> =http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/definitions.asp?letterNum=6

work in excess of 30 hours/37.5 hours per week over a shorter period cannot compensate for any shorter overall period of experience.

PS: Try and not question the very basics of a process well understood by experienced members on the forum. They are unlikely to comment without full knowledge. :)

Thanks Asviad. I was just looking for confirmation. Actually, this is the first time I notice that work experience is calculated based on weeks (+30hours) rather than the 1560 hour/year.

Thanks to all of you.
