Hello folks,

I was wondering if an international student can work full time during the semester between two programs. That is, if one has finished a program and took a semester break before enrolling for another program, can s/he do full-time work on SIN? Thanks in advance!!!

If you're out of school for more than 90 days, your study permit is automatically canceled. So I don't see how it will work out...

No in the meantime I will apply for the study permit extension.

Anyone????

Based on CIC website that you can work while holding a study permit but one of the conditions is you have to be enrolled

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp
To qualify, you must:

have a valid study permit,
be a full-time student,
be enrolled at a designated learning institution at the post-secondary level or, in Quebec, a vocational program at the secondary level, and
be studying in an academic, vocational or professional training program that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate that is at least six months in duration.

You must stop working on-campus on the day you no longer meet the above eligibility requirements (e.g., if you are no longer a full-time student.)

1. No, you can't work. You can work only if have applied for a PGWP and are in implied status.
