Hi,

I thought that a Federal Skilled Working Visa is simply that, but I heard of references to FSW1 and FSW3. What is the difference??

Hi..

The best source for your current answer is page# 4 of EG7000 Guide.
OR
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp
OR

"Choose the Category in the table below which corresponds to your situation. This chart describes the three categories available to you.

Category If you meet the criteria in one of the categories below, your application will be placed into processing.
FSW1
you have at least one year of continuous full time or equivalent paid work experience in the last ten years in one or more of the occupational categories identified in the Ministerial Instructions.

Note: The list of occupations can be found on our website at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp

FSW2
you have an offer of arranged employment in Canada. The employment offer should be:

in writing,
indeterminate in duration, and
meet the arranged employment factor described in this guide.

FSW3
you are a temporary foreign worker or an international student residing legally in Canada for at least 12 months immediately before submitting your application.

Note: If you are subject to an enforceable removal order you are not considered to be legally residing in Canada and would therefore not meet the eligibility criteria for this category."

I am seeking some help.

I had applied under FSW3 category back in 2009 when the conditions stated that it you were either an international student or foreign worker working or studying for atleast 1 year. I need to know if there were any other conditions to this application. Like back in 2009 did you have to be studying a PHD or working in a skilled position if you were a foreign worker. Because I know the conditions changed in 2010 or something.

I recently received a rejection from LA office saying my work experience in a different country does not qualify. However I didnt apply with that job in mind, I applied with my current job in Canada and studies here. I do not know why they rejected my application.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated. Im looking for old links or information on the old FSW3 category.

Thanks in advance.
