Dear Seniors,

I am thinking to apply as a medical lab technician under FSW as there is also remaining seats for this profession. However,my education related to lab technician is only one year after schooling(completion of 11years of study in total) but I have more than 7 years of experience in the last ten years .On the other hand,I have completed master's degree in sociology two years back and have one year community based working experience. My question here is- can I claim points for my post graduate degree in sociolgy for the points of education as I am applying for that otherwise my one year diploma only gives 5 points and it will be far cry to meet 67 points if points for my degree is not counted.

Anyone who has similiar situation or experience or any expert opinion will be highly appreciated.

Hi Subhash,

My cousins case is similar to yours, he has only one year of experience even though he does not have diploma related to lab tech but has worked a lab in charge who was looking after the labs day to day activities, it was long back in the year 2005 to 06 but fall in ten years tenure. But only positive things in his favor is his degree which is related to medical field and masters in health related field, he will be sending his transcripts for education assessments by coming week.
We are not sure making the cut but, just giving a try, no harm in trying.
I think seniors can give more inputs in your case.

Hello,

My friend has completed Bachelor of Arts in 1995 with Psychology as a major. He has more than 15 years of experience as Lab Technician. He completed his Two years Diploma in Lab Technician in 2007. Applied for WES, but WES did not include his diploma in WES report. So can he apply has Lab Technician now?
