Hello, I am new here. I want to help a relative submit their immigration application under the federal skilled worker class. I checked the cic website and they are no longer accepting applications for the category of profession after June 2010 as the cap of 1000 has been reached. Will my relative's application be accepted in June 2011 once the 12 month period has passed? We have just started the application so we are hoping to have everything ready for June 2011.
Thank you and good luck all.

At this point no one knows which NOCs will be included in the list when the next "year" begins on 1 July 2011, but you would be wise to have your documents ready to courier the moment they are announced (as long as they arrive on or after 1 July). There is a lot of information floating around that indicates there will still be 67 points required to qualify, but there will be different weighting to the age, language and employment categories. Keep your eyes open for more information on this aspect of the immigration process as well. Have you looked carefully at the other NOCs to see whether or not your relative's work experience fits any of them? Good Luck.

Thank you for the reply! I am aware there will be changes to the allocation of points as I saw it mentioned somewhere on the CIC website.
I did check the occupations list and my relative fits under the Business category which has already reached its cap. Our plan is to try to get everything ready for June 2011 and hope any changes won't affect them too much. Since i've been through the process already (but many years ago so some rules have changed) i'm trying to help them out.

To be crystal clear, the occupation has to be on this list only to be eligible to apply without arranged employment between June 2010 and June 2011 right? What a small list! Taken from cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/tool/tool_06.asp

Yes, you are correct. Prior to the NOC 29 was NOC 38. The current list lost a number of occupations and added a few different ones to reach 29.
