Dearest fellow attempting immigrants.
I have applied for the FSW 2014 program under the category of Construction Managers. I am a Civil Engineer, with a Master's degree in Construction Management and I am based in Dubai. Originally Jordanian. My English is close to a native's level, and I have had enough points to qualify.
I have done my application through an agent here, and they have been quite unprofessional throughout the entire process, but I have been patient with them because I just wanted to get through to my goal: i.e: an operational PR.
By the time we got around their system's inefficiency, I have finally applied in December, 2014.
They contacted me yesterday (6 months later) telling me that my file was returned because the quota has been already filled.
That kind of left me dumbfounded because it just does not seem like a legitimate reason. If the quota was filled, shouldn't I have not been able to apply in the first place?
Or is it that they have two sorts of quotas: the first quota for all applications, and the second quota for shortlisted or accepted applications.
If it's the latter, I haven't been notified.
I honestly feel like I have been cheated, but I want to make educated judgments before I start acting based on it.
Anyone seem to find this story logical? Is that an expected sequence of events?
