From Student to Worker

Hi,

I am currently living in Vancouver.My student visa is expiring on 31st December 2012. I have received my work permit and now applying for a multiple entry TRV.

What if I dont receive my TRV extension in time before 31st December 2012 ? Because I will be mailing my passport along with my documents to Ottawa.

Can someone please suggest me what to do in case ?

You're okay for as long as your WP is valid, you can legally stay in Canada but must not exit except to the US or St Pierre et Miguelon.

So I dont have to be forced to leave ! Quite a relief !

You have legal status as long as you have a valid VR/WP but once you left Canada, you'd have to apply for a TRV in order to be allowed entry again.
