Filing a complaint won't have any impact on your status - either positive or negative.

If your status expires this month then you will be out of status in Canada if you do nothing and let it expire. If you want to avoid going out of status, then you need to file to extend your status in Canada or change your status to visitor. Filing a complaint doesn't extend your status in Canada.

Don't let your status expire.

Consider apply for visitor status if you don't want to leave Canada yet.
