Hmm, as much as I would not like to criticize any person or office, If it is London CIC, I think you better start a plan B. I think they are too busy with the new Immigration Laws and Applicants - A disastrous news for the old Applicants.

At the same time, hat's off for you for waiting so long - 5 Years is a long time- Respect Man. I have been waiting for only 2 years, and I have already started thinking otherwise. E.g I am already selling my present house to a buy a bigger one which I had kept on hold for the past 2 years. I had kept the money to invest in Canada but with the present interest rates and exchange rates, I don't think it is worth it any longer. I'd rather invest it in a property now. Man the kids are not getting younger. Time and tide waits for nobody. I sometimes think I have been stupid for putting my life on hold, for 2 years, just because of this process.

One should, after applying for Canadian Immigration, just forget about it and continue life as normal. If it happens, fine, but believe me, it is really a stupid thing to keep everything on hold. I am sure it has not been an easy task for you, waiting so long.

Anyway, All the best.

I completely agree with u Bobby B but infact in my view if u get a PR of a country like Canada, after a waiting period of even 3 yrs , i think its fine as one of my friend applied for his US Green card(Family sponsorship) in 1996 n got it only in 2009(almost after 13 yrs) and there are many who waiting in queue although with the same time line as him.So in tht case i think we are comparitively lucky. So man in my view one shd just forget the process after applying and dnt get involved much in it.
So relax n wait!!!!

Good Luck

Dear Bobby,
U r absolutely right.I applied from CIC Islamabad.I lost time which ultimately effected my career as i didn't put value in pursuing further education as at that time the maximum time line for immigration canada was 3 to 4 years but as policy changed and fast track came which affected the applicants from 2003 till 2007 but now I am doing MBA.I have recently married and my wife is MBBS doctor.Atlease we should try for best but u know that God is there who knows better that what is right and whts wrong for us in future.I am at an average position in a good multinational pharmaceutical comapny in karachi but after all waiting for so long time and becoming a canadian me and my wife have great opportuinities in canada as our profession is in high demand subject to passing related liscence exams.

Dear bobby,
I think 2004 cases are being started. Whats your update?

MaryChris,
Note that, I applied in 2007 and not 2004 and that too to the London Office, as I am in the UK.
