Hi, this forum has been a great resource for us so far. I hope someone would shed some light in this confusing situation. I am approved sponsor to my wife and her 22 year old son. Application was received in July 2013 and he was just 1 month shy of turning 22. We applied inland however he was at that time and still is in Poland. Recently she got her work permit and her son received letter from embassy in Warsaw to refer to following items
- complete forms Generic application for Canada, Background form and Additional family information form
- police record
- birth certificate
- 4 pictures
and copy of all passport pages.
All documents were submitted with original package that went to Vaugerville. At one point application ended up in Mississauga.
Her son was listed as Type A dependant on generic application. The translated police record and birth certificate were also submitted with original application. Backround and additional family information forms for the son were submitted after email and phone request from Mississauga office.
When I called call center they told me to do whatever he was asked to do by the embassy. I called embassy and they do not offer any advice over the phone.
There is no real problem besides some time and cost to resubmit documents, however I have no idea how he supposed to fill out generic form. The same way as original form? or with him as an applicant? but he doesn't fit in any category that are in the guide. He is neither spouse or dependent child (to me).
