Hi, I'm hoping to travel next month to Canada, me and my parents are applying through the UAE Embassy from Bahrain but i'm confused about the forms needed

What is the difference between the Visa Application Form and the Schedule 1 Visa Application Form? Both are IMM5257 but I don't know which one we need to fill out and apply with. And do we need Family Information form?

Is it faster to apply online or courier to the UAE embassy? And what kind of proof of funds do we need to show?

My mother's sister is a citizen of Canada and has an invitation letter ready, they live in Toronto if that helps.

Thanks for any help

Here is the link to the application package. You may not need all the forms, but probably most of them.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

This application includes the following items:
•Document Checklist [IMM 5484] (PDF, 27 KB) June 2013
•Document Checklist – Applicants in Canada [IMM 5721] (PDF, 577 KB) August 2012
Application for Temporary Resident Visa [IMM 5257] (PDF, 338 KB) April 2013
•Family Information [IMM 5645] (PDF, 59 KB) September 2010
•Schedule 1 – Application for Temporary Resident Visa [IMM 5257 - Schedule 1] (PDF, 61 KB) June 2013
•Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union [IMM 5409] (PDF, 97 KB) April 2009
•Visa application photograph specifications
•Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 55 KB) April 2013

Bold means required for everyone.

Both forms need to be completed even though they have the same number. If you were to click on the forms you will see that they ask for different information. Schedule 1 asks about travel dates outside of your country of residence or citizenship, military service if any etc. The visa application form is about your personal information name, dob, education employment, purpose of visit etc.
As far as proof of funds, make sure you include a bank account with a considerable sum of money in it, depending on the length of your stay and who is covering your expenses during your visit. The most important thing is to prove ties to your home country, properties in your name, a job etc. Dont forget to include financial proof for your aunt since she is the one who is inviting you to visit canada (bank account statement and letter of employment if applicable).
I also suggest that you don't apply all at once, your parents and you, because than your parents would have no family ties to your home country (since you're leaving with them, unless you have siblings in your country). It might come across as if you have no intention to come back to your country since all three of you are applying. This is different if your aunt has a wedding or some other important event that you all want to attend.
