Hi guys,

I am currently filling out the forms to sponsor my wife to Quebec.
I wanted to know if you think it would take the processing same time if I fill out the forms in French?Since there must be less people that speak French to check the forms? or you think it would be the same?

Since French is my first language it's easier for me, but if it takes more time, I would do it in english for sure.

thanks!

i have a feeling it's a pre-requesite for visa officers at that level to be fluent in french. i could be wrong, it just seems a significant amount of mid level or higher jobs i've seen (Which i assume this is) require fluency in french. i assume this is especially true in government?

i don't think it would matter, as CIC gives the option, though it's an interesting question...

It doens't matter. My husband (sponsor) is full bilingual but prefers to fill application in French. I don't speck French yet so I filled in English. There was no more or less processing times because of languages issues.
CIC is full bilingual.

My husband's 1st language is also French, so he had written every files by french.
Yesterday we got SA and its tooks 58 days from application recieved.
For now, Processing times is 56 days so I think its not so different with written by English case.
My husband said Use french isn't common like English so its little advantage to processing times(well about SA, not so different! :P)

I filled mine (sponsor) in french and my wife (applicant) filled hers in english. So far, I'm within the time frame for SA and PPR. CIC is required by law to offer bilingual services and its not supposed to affect your application the language you use.
