My ex-husband is doing his immigration process to enter Canada. I have 5 years divorced and I have our daughter's custody. He is asking me to sign the Form IMM5604E saying that he is only doing it to have the possibility in the future for her to go and live with him and to go to the university when she has the age. I noticed that the form says that I have no objection for her immigration but I do not agree for her to immigrate right now and it also says that I recognize that I might be permanently separated from my daughter which I also do not agree to it. Does it have any risks for me and for the custody I hold if I sign this form now?? Anyone please advise

Hi Patricia. As far as I know that form is signed by the parent that is allowing the child to immigrate with the other parent that is the applicant. If your ex is adding your child as non accompanying then, to my knowledge, this form is not needed. I could be wrong so pls do see an immigration lawyer before you sign or refuse to sign anything. Pls note that even if your child is non accompanying, she will still need her medical done.
