On the last page of this form where it talks about an interpreter... is it ok if I put that I, myself, interpreted this form for my husband? He understands english, however it was jsut some things that he needed more explanation of in simple english terms. So I just signed my name as the interpreter... will this be accepted by cic?

Honestly, I don't think it matters. I helped my wife with the forms, but I am not going to put my name down as the interpreter, because I didn't actually interpret anything, I just helped out...

Correcting grammar mistakes is not what I consider to be the job of an interpreter. An interpreter would be someone who helped fill the forms for someone who cannot understand English. In your case, I don't think there is a need to put your name down...

I also needed explanations in simple English, and I am a native speaker!! Would I also require an interpreter?

I agree. If the applicant can understand English, but just needs a bit of help understanding the forms, I would not bother filling out the interpreter section. That is really for when the applicant doesn't know English at all. It is important that the applicant does understand what he/she is signing, though, but the sponsor explaining things and correcting grammar mistakes is not enough to say he/she is the interpreter.
