Form 5490

Hi there,

I am currently filling out applications, sponsoring my husband. In application 5490, there is a question asking 'When and where did you first meet in person?' However, I am not too sure what to say here as my wife is my first cousin as well. We have always stayed in contact as our families are very close to each other. Yet, last year she came to Pakistan with her family and stayed at my house. Is it okay for me to just give that date, when she came to Pakistan last year as our first meeting in person? even though, that was not really our first meeting since we had spent some of our childhood together. ;D

Just give that date when she came to ur house and attach a seperate sheet adding an explanation to that answer that u guys are cousins but had been out of touch since many years and met recently on so and so date...label that sheet clearly with form number, sponsor and PA name, along with the question number u are refering to..

That is what i wud have done.. rest others can guide u...

Definitely attach a separate sheet of paper and explain. I would put your first meeting in childhood, then explain that she is your cousin, you have known each other all your lives, and about her coming to your house.
