Forgot to attach copy in main appliaction in CIO application

My friend applied in old system beofre 26 June 2010 and application got delivered before 26th June 2010. He forgot to attach one of the main document (passport copy). He has not got the application number as it may come in process only after one or two months or so.

Is there is any way to send this now or wait for CIO to respond.
