i applied for work permit as a truck driver from uae ( Dubai ) my uae transporter applied my visa in dec 2015. After some time i got refusal and he did not give me complete refusal letter. And now i recived all docs and refusal letter from ATIP ( cic ). And it showes in (X) other reason that (YOU ARE NOT IN POSSESSION OF VALID LMIA ) i dont know what does this mean. There is no my name on LMIA.
I want to know that how to check that Lmia was valid.

An LMIA is applied for and paid for by the company that would employ you. They have to advertise the job and show that no Canadian or resident can be found for the job which for a truck driver sounds unlikely.

Did you pay someone to process your application given in the first instance an LMIA is paid for by the employer and needs to be a successful LMIA application ?

Yes i paid 3000 us dollers. And he told me that he has lmia from ............. company on Bc. Ask me to giving a a resume. And that time i have only 9 months experirnce and my ielts was in academic with 5.5 band. I have copy of lmia there nothing mentioned about me. And employer contract and it seem that its not approved from govt and only my name and adress and contacat

Sounds like you were scammed and there was never a job. The work permit costs a few hundred dollars. If someone is asking for thousands of dollars - it's a scam.

But in the Refusal Letter there is showing that ' YOU ARE NOT IN POSSESSION OF VALID LMIA ' what does this mean ??

Oh my God!!! They should not be charging you to do LMIA thats the employers responsibility!!!

You were robbed and the work offer is a fraud

LMIA stands for Labour Market Impact Assessment.

An LMIA is proof that a firm has tried to hire a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident to do the job, but failed, and wants to hire you instead, because you can do the job. It's specific to you, which means your name has to be on it, and as you've been told, it's fairly unlikely that they could get an LMIA for a truck driver (where there are many Canadians who would probably apply for any advertised job).

An LMIA costs $1000, which is supposed to be paid by the company. I'm sorry to say, it sounds like you were scammed.

Hi

But in the Refusal Letter there is showing that ' YOU ARE NOT IN POSSESSION OF VALID LMIA ' what does this mean ??

1. It means your prospective employer has not received a LMIA from Service Canada to fill the position with a foreign worker.
2. You have been told this already, you were scammed so you can kiss your money goodbye.
