Hi all,

The letter from by boss is fairly conclusive and includes all the information asked for on a letter headed paper from a major Dow Jones industrial company.

Is it unlikely they will contact my boss in this scenario? I am wondering whether i should forewarn my boss because if she gets a random call out of the blue from Canadian immigration without any idea then it may not go well for me since she doesn't not know of my intentions.

I would prefer to avoid having the discussion with her unless I have to since it may jeopardize my short term goals at the company.

Thanks,

Does your reference letter have email addresses? They'll probably try e-mailing before calling.

In this case, no. As long as the letter looks genuine, it's unlikely that they'll call your employer. They can't possibly call every employer in every applicant's work history.

Try to add as much proof as you can.. Things like employment contract, payslips, promotion letters and even bank statements showing salary remittance, would definitely make your case stronger.

It does have an email address and a phone number. We are on the other side of the planet to Canada though so there is no working hours that overlap so i guess you are right, an email would be most likely.

I have payslips and an employment letter as well so I can't imagine what they could possibly ask. I guess it is fairly unlikely they would contact her.
