Hi there,

This is my first post on this forum, though I came here a *LOT* during my TWP application process for help and everyone here seems really helpful and clued up.

I now have a temporary work permit for one year obtained through GoInternational, and it is an open work permit - I arrive in two weeks, I'm super excited!

My situation is this: I have a full-time job at a web marketing company here (Cape Town, South Africa) and they would like me to continue working for them as a freelancer while I am there. The plan is for them to pay me +/- $1200 a month for my work, (which is around R10 000) into a South African bank account. However, they also hope for me to (via targeted online advertising) sell websites to Canadians, and essentially act as a salesman/go-between for the people who do the work back in South Africa and the clients in Canada. I would make extra commission off any sales I can make in this way. Would I be required to register a Canadian business, or pay Canadian tax? Apologies if this is a stupid question - this is new territory for me!

Thanks very much for any help that you can provide.
X

EDIT: realise this is in the wrong topic - misunderstood what Canada Experience Class was, but leaving it here in hopes of getting some expert help anyways

If you are planning to apply for PR card under Canadian Experience Class or Skilled Worker, you can not apply as a freelancer. you need to have a employer - employee relation.
