Hello guys,

I am sponsoring my wife and she is in Canada with me. I am getting ready to submit her application for permanent residence. My question is if we need to provide original police certificates from a foreign country with a certified true copy and its translation?
Or should I only send the certified copy of the police certificates with the translations, excluding the originals?

Please help me if you have been through this. It is very confusing and not clear.

Sincerely,

Jose

Unless the country specific instructions say you must submit the original (non English or French) document along with the certified copy and translation, you do not need to submit the original.

Hello ¨k.h.p.
Unless the country specific instructions say you must submit the original (non English or French) document along with the certified copy and translation, you do not need to submit the original.

I checked what you just mentioned and I got this:

Official documents issued by this country must be government-certified true copies (copies certified as authentic by the issuing governmental authority, signed and sealed).

This is what confuses me....

So the original needs to meet that but it doesn't say to submit the original along with the translation.
