Hello guys, I am planning to switch post secondary program from my current one into another one. However, the other program that I want to switch to only offers it during the fall. This means that I have to 'rest' or take a semester off, which would seemingly violate my study permit. However, if I were to explain my situation to the government would that be okay? Thanks!

No, you can't just explain it to the government. No one is forcing you to take a break. You are choosing to drop your current program.
