"Under "Status" select "Other"
"Under "Other" type in "Out of status, requires restoration"
"Leave the "From" and "To" boxes blank."

As someone who is currently out of status and is having major concerns regarding it - does this mean I may not be denied based on that alone? How would CIC/CBSA know how long I've been out of status? I'm way over the 90 day restoration period... why is this even an option if you have to have legal status in Canada before you apply?

Thanks to those who always take the time out to respond. You're amazing and a life saver!

Hello (again)...

An Inland applicant [still] does not need to have legal status, provided they have an eligible sponsor. Even though the Inland Guide has been updated (Sept 2014) to say that legal status is required, it is NOT yet an official change in policy. CIC updated their IP8 document (Inland Processing manual) recently and the verbiage regarding those without status is still there from 2005.

Since you will need to show the most recent entry date into Canada in your application, CIC/CBSA will know how long you've been out of status, if they weren't already aware of it.

Those in Canada without status applying Outland, may or may not have issues.

I am applying outland my application was sent to Ottawa yesterday received SA let's hope it goes smoothly

I just saw that (about most recent entry) I just don't understand the wording as if it's somewhat OK to be out of status. I hope I'm making sense to you? I would just think if you're out of status you're out of status - no need for them to suggest restoration.
