Greetings -

Appreciate the replies on the other topic thread.

I now do have one follow-up question. Looking at the immigration programs, I wonder if I have any chance of even being accepted. Express entry seems to be for workers, and so does the one Provincial Nominee Program page I looked at.

However...I'm a retiree. Not really looking for full-time employment at this point. So any chance at all?

Canada has no immigration class for retirees.

If you wish to immigrate, then you'll have to qualify through one of the worker streams like Express Entry or Provincial Nominee - or alternatively through an investor or entrepreneur stream (which require you to start a business in Canada and invest anywhere from a few hundred thousand to several million in starting up that business).

REALLY? Well, I guess that lets Canada out. I've read about folks retiring overseas, but since I hadn't really thought much about it, never gave much notice about what different countries were doing.

I think I'd better start praying harder...

Thanks for replying, though.

Federal investor program is closed and cut-offed. (Basically it's money for citizenship)

there are provincial programs still open. Of those, IIRC all requires to run a real business that generates revenue. (not just bring in money or let Canada lock it up for 15 years kinda deal like before)
