Hello all
I have already asked questions related to this a few times so I have some idea of what I should bring with me for my son's study permit however I would love some advice on what documents I should carry with us so that we don't have an issue reentering. We will be in California for 1 week. Then returning to Canada hoping for my son to receive a study permit and the rest of us to get another 6 month as a visitor. What items may they ask for or would help this go smoothly?

Thank you!!!

I don't know too much about the study permit, sorry. I would bring your PR receipt, copy of SA letter and any documents that can prove financial responsibility. You still only want to say that you would like to "visit" while your application is being processed. On your declaration card make sure you have a US address listed for your residence address. I got confused with that part because on my PR I listed the Canadian address so thought I could on the declaration card. Nope!! CBSA and CIC have different views on "residing" or "living" in Canada. CBSA still wants to know that you have a residence outside of Canada.

I hope someone else can answer your question on the study permit for your son.

Best Wishes and enjoy California, my home state that I miss a bunch. 8)

Thank you!! I will remember that about the address!!
