Flagpoling study permit extension

Hello, I was wondering if study permit extensions can be done at the US/Canada Border? I have read on other sites that it can be done but I also have read that it can’t be done. Does anyone know for a fact? I’m a US citizen and I originally flagpoled to get my study permit which I have now.

You can flagpole for an extension.
