Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
My common law fiancé and I submitted our application last year and they received it March 6th. On March 16th we got our numbers. Then we waited and waited and watched the timeline go from 6 months to 11 and then just after 10 months we finally saw a date past our application, but we didn't see any change to our status. No AIP. So we contacted CIC and they informed us that they transferred our file to Winnipeg on January 8th. I'm told this likely means that they want to interview us to verify our relationship and common-law status is still valid. I have no problem with that. However, since what we thought was a half year process has now become nearly 11 months I wish I could get a sense for how long the Winnipeg office generally takes to schedule these appointments. WE actually moved to Saskatoon but when I updated the address it only updated on my end and CIC had no idea so that is why the file is in Winnipeg and not Saskatoon in the first place. I was informed yesterday that if we wanted to transfer to Saskatoon it will take two months to transfer our file and then who knows how long to schedule the interview!!! This is incredibly frustrating to us as my fiancé is here on a student permit and we are desperate to get him working as the extra half year this has all taken has really drained our resources. Why is it that there is nobody who can put me in contact with the Winnipeg office to get an idea how things are running there? Does anyone have experience with this who can give me some sage advice because I'm starting to feel like loving an immigrant has somehow made me a kind of second class citizen in my own country. I know that's super dramatic, but I also know you all get how I'm feeling.
