Someone on another forum posted this link. http://www.canlii.org/en/ca/irb/doc/2014/2014canlii70005/2014canlii70005.html

This appears to be the first documented case where PR was revoked due to Condition 51 and a removal order was issued, the removal was appealed, and the appeal was allowed based on use of the abuse exemption.

It's worth a read more to read on how seriously CIC appears to be taking Condition 51 and the amount of detail they go into in order to determine whether or not an exemption applies.

(Separately, the sponsor in this case is clearly unstable, but it's a fascinating read in any case!)

Sometimes the Canadian sponsor takes advantage of the foreign spouse.

Too many incidents these days of Canadians going to other countries for love and then can't tolerate the other person once the honeymoon is over.

These ladies like going to poor countries, getting married while happy and then come back and want to undo it all.

Seen it, heard it

yes, this was shared in another thread. that sponsor is a whackjob. i love how the judg writes though. it was quite a good read!

Uh-huh. Praise be to the lord I am not bi-polar.

I read it too. I almost feel sorry for the lady for the fact that she couldn't understand why he didn't want anything to do with her and felt she was the victim in the whole thing. She needs help.
