Is it common that one member (Adult) in the family receive a FP request and not the other?

I have applied for Citizenship back in March 2020 and only my spouse received it but I have not received a FP request.

Yes I heard that before.
They asked for finger print from me twice so far one in Feb'20 and second one in March'21

Did they cite any reason for needing the fingerprints? I'm baffled at my request since my job requires me to give fingerprints to Transport Canada and they cite Section 21 and/or 22 for the reason...

I actually got a hold of someone in the office. They told me the reason behind the FP request was due to the name being similar/common and them wanting to have a discernable difference between you/the applicant and whomever you share a name with that may have been in some kind of legal trouble.

That's makes sense. Also explains why my wife got it and not me. Possibly a common name scenario.

I don't really buy the common name scenario. My name is pretty uncommon, nobody else I know who has the same name-surname combination. But still got an FP request.

I was requested to do fingerprint three times: in 2017, and in 2020 and in 2021. Most probably this is never ending story in some cases.

Look if you know that your file is clear , no issues at all,and background check is done simply hire a lawyer and most probably will end faster

Fingerprint request- Is it the same with RCMP Criminal Record that they asked during PR application?

I don't know if it's true, but I was told that they ask for fingerprints every time your date of birth is exact same as someone with a criminal record. Justification is that you can change your name, but you can't change your DOB.
