fingerprint request (Iam freaking out pls help)

hi today i got request for finger print . Iam vietnamese , before i submitted my inland app i thought it doesnt need it because I am in canada more than 6 months or something , only vietnamese who are first time traveller to canada is required. Now iam so freaking out , i dont know what happen, my friend doesnt get any finger prints request and has same inland appl as well, even my parent's friend just got PR and they dont have finger print request as well. Can anyone help me if this is normal? thanks so much

If you have lived in another country for longer than 6 months, they will ask for a police check from that country. Sometimes they do a Canadian background check as well, it's totally normal.

If you are talking about fingerprints for an RCMP check., the most likely reason is that your name had a hit and they need to verify that it isn't you.

yeah i m quite sure about it because my name is a bit confused and there are are many similar names to mine . The reason i freak out because if Iam in bad luck there is a match with someone in system then it will take 120 days to finalize while i only have 30 days to send it to CPC and in the case i have to explain why it happens which make my PR app delay longer so it is actually a lot of hassle between luck and bad luck

Your name may be the same but fingerprints are unique so unless you have something to hide you shouldn't worry, that's why they need to confirm (if that's even the reason).
