AoA,

I need some help with this FBI clearance thing.

I applied for FSW1 under 4131 and have recently received my MR along with a request for PCCs and FBI clearance from the U.S. I spent 6 years in college and grad school in the U.S. At the time of application, I did not send any FBI certificate and have been asked to do so now.

Questions;
1) Can I fill out the fingerprint card myself and send to FBI or do I have to get it done from a "professional"?
2) If it must be through a pro, where can I find one in Karachi?

I'd appreciate any help.

Thank You.

Hello Azad I stayed in US as an undergrad student from 1996 to 2001, and wondering how can I get the fingerprinting done. However the only difference between my and your situation is that I am based out of Riyadh. Also I do not recall what my social security number is/was, does one has to have the number to apply for FBI certificate? Anyways can you please keep me posted if you find any solution to this issue.

thanks

I was there between 89 and 95.

Well, I've found a post by Hopeful Canadian, in which he clearly says that he did it himself and got the report back, albeit in 2010;

So, I'm gonna try it myself also. All of the info is given on the cic.gc.ca site, which gives the link to the FBI site. If I find some other way, I will update this link. So bookmark this.

Good luck!

Dear all

I applied for FBI record and my letter was recieved on desk in US on July 1st, 2010 (07/01/2010) as reported by my courrier TCS from Pakistan. In a letter dated August 27th, 2010 (08/27/2010), it was reported to be recieved as on July 2nd, 2010 (07/02/200) by the FBI office and was reported to be returned on August 24th, 2010 (08/24/2010) with a result " NO ARREST RECORD - FBI ". The Envelope was Postmaked as of August 30th, 2010 (08/30/2010) that was recieved at Islamabad, Pakistan September 5th, 2010 (09/05/2010) and it was deliverd to me in my city on September 7th, 2010 (09/07/2010).
Well friends;
1. I took my own fingerprints by myself using a standard Black Stamp Pad.
2. I made 3 set of fingerprints which I sent.
3. I sent the application with a $ 18 Draft.
4. I sent my application with a request of expiditious handelling by July 1th, 2010 ( 07/10/2010).
5. I also made a photocopy of the wholeset and kept it with me.
So Conclusively my FBI record was prepared in 53 Days ( 7 Weeks 4 Days ) and I recieved t back in 9 Weeks altogether.
Hope it Helps.

well i didn't go FBI report, but instead i asked the local police department in Arizona state to give issue me the police clearance report. I live in US from 2003 to 2007 on student visa. i got the finger prints on finger print card from fraud investigation department of police, based in Saddar, Karachi. i sent the finger prints card and other requirement and got the police certificate from Arizona State police department within 1 week.

The local police in karachi charged me Rs.4000 for myself and for my wife.

Sure. But CHC-UK has specifically asked me for FBI report, so I need to get that. I'll try these Fraud Investigation place in Saddar also. Lets see.

Thanks.

Is SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER optional as I have lost mine ever since I left the country in 2001

Thanks

Dear,

In Karachi, you can get the finger printing done at the forensic department of Karachi Police. It is located in the CID office at Garden area after the Unkelseria hospital. Take the FBI fingerprint card with you. They may charge you around Rs. 1500 to 2000/=
Best of Luck.

That area is not exactly called Saddar. It is generally known as Garden area in Karachi.
Yes, it is near IBA as well which is diagonally opposite to Unkelseria hospital.
I hope the location is now clear.
Regards.

I am sorry, but i am not really familiar with that area, but yes it's the same place i went for finger printing. They have the required form for printing, they even asked my SSN, which i provided them.

Thank you Sir, for the info. I will definitely try that tomorrow morning.

Sincerely,
AZAD JAN

IS SSN optional?

Not sure, but I'd rather provide than not. On the FBI application (which goes with the fingerprinting card) they ask for the last 4 digits, but on the fingerprinting card/paper, they have a box asking for the full SS#.

Your call. Maybe you can write to FBI and check.
