Hello -
I am preparing for getting medical exam done for my application for PR to Canada (via express entry).

I live in Wisconsin, and based on the search tool provided in CIC website, I am not able to find any panel doctor in Wisconsin.
The nearest one I find is in Illinois.

Question 1)
It is a bit strange that there is no panel doctor in Wisconsin, so I thought of checking this with the folks in this forum...
thoughts?
Question 2)
and is there any restriction on which panel doctors in the country I could pick.?

When researching online, I found the following text on the cic website (faq section)
"[size=10pt][size=10pt]faq question - How long will my application take if I need a medical exam?
faq answer - After a medical examination by a Panel Physician, the results are sent for review to the CIC medical office which serves your region. The CIC medical office will assess the results and send their assessment to the visa office which is processing your application.

Question 3)
What does 'your region' mean?
(It makes me feel that the medical application goes to certain processing centers based on from which region you are applying from... but not sure.... and not sure how important this factor is)

Lastly, Based on what I have understood, the panel physician submits the report of the medical exam directly to CIC (and can provide a copy to me as well if I request)
Question 4)
How long does it take for the results to reach CIC, and when do they really review them?
I am just trying to understand from the timeline perspective - that, can I, in theory have the medical exam done just few days before I submit the application (response to ITA), or should I try to do it way too early so that the medical report should reach and be reviewed by CIC before I submit a response to ITA.

Thank you all for helping out!!

If you don't have one in Wisconsin, check in nearby states that can be reached through drive. I believe you don't have any other option for this.

Medicals need to be the last thing before you submit your application because it will give you enough time for your landing. If your application is in process and if your medical is expired, then you will be asked for another medicals before PPR is issued. Doing it too early can lead to such a situation when the processing time gets delayed to some reason. Also I don't think doing it early would make any difference to your application as people have their medicals status generally updated from one day to few weeks. Furtherance tests, if needed, also promptly asked for quickly I guess.

Hello -
Thank you for taking time to giving direction on this...
Please see few more comments/questions...

K, thanks for the info...

Can you please explain the above point in more detail? I am not sure what does 'landing' refer to here?

Can you please explain this reasoning a bit more too?...

Thanks again!

Landing is the final step in pr process where you actually enter Canada for the first time. When you do that for first time as a pr, your medicals should be valid. Or they'll request for new medicals.
