Finding a Job with Expired PR Card

Hi,

I wont be able to meet my 730 days residency obligation and haven't yet found a job. Since I will not be renewing my PR card until I complete my days which might take over a year - can I realistically hope to find a job, if my card is expired? Can I find or work for an employer with an expired PR Card.

What documents do usually employers ask and whats is required to prove that I can work in Canada ? Thank you.

Do you have a SIN which should be the main thing you need for an employer. Sure a PR card shows you are a PR but is more useful for travel back into the country or boarding a plane back.

Also note that PR cards expire PR status never expires and can only be renounced or revoked . Many people do not even bother to renew their cards if they have no plans to travel .
