We're finally ready to send in our application!

My wife is from upstate New York, USA and we will be applying outland to get her PR in Canada to live with me. We have all of our paperwork and proof together after months of waiting, finally! We're just a little worried about where we're sending this all. We REALLY don't want to have gone through all that and end up sending our application to the wrong place. So, I just wanted to confirm with you guys the process of sending in our application.

My question is, do I (as the sponsor) have to send in the application package in my name from my Canadian address, or, can she send in our package from New York?

Does it have to be sent via Certified Mail?

And just to confirm the address that we're sending our package to (for outland):
Spouses, common-law or conjugal partner and dependent children:
CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga, ON
L5A 4N6

Extra Info:
My wife will be applying outland while currently living in New York.
My application to be a sponsor is with her and with the rest of our paperwork/photos, etc.

It doesn't matter which address it's sent from, they don't care.

If you are sending it by normal mail, you send it to that PO Box.

If you are sending it by certified mail or courier, then use the courier address. It's on the website, same spot where you got that address.

I sent mine to the PO Box but it still got signed for...

From http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp#3900E6

If you send your application by private courier:

Sponsorship: (type of sponsorship*)
Case Processing Centre – Mississauga
2 Robert Speck Parkway,
Suite 300
Mississauga, ON
L4Z 1H8

I would highly recommend sending it though UPS, Purolator, DHL, etc to the courier address. There you get a physical signature and you know it was received.

Congratulations!

Since you said that you've been waiting/working on this for months make sure to check the CIC website for any updated forms before sending your package!

Sending an application with an outdated form can lead to the entire package being returned.

Good luck!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, sometimes they ask only the updated form.

That'd be pretty horrible sine that no one can help, I think they should go by the signature date on the form :)

They seem to go by the date that the application was received at their location [mailroom], since they have no way of authenticating when the form was truly signed.

Some people have received confirmation (AOR) early in the month where a document had been revised (later that same month) and had issues. AFAIK, the majority of those people were simply asked to provide the updated form, but I'm sure a few were not as fortunate.

Thanks for the advice, but we were waiting months because we wanted to send in the FBI background check and medical along with our package. The background check was on back-order(?) and took about 16 weeks to receive, then when we finally got it, they said the officer filling out the forms, didn't fill it out properly and they couldn't process the prints we submitted. Luckily, we resubmitted them a couple days later and they came back in only a few days with the results.

Anyways, thanks a bunch for everyone who posted here! We're so happy we're finally able to submit all this. Now just the long waiting game.
