If you are not C/law partners, then the answer is no. You should know that having a conjugal application approved if there is no impediment to marriage is almost impossible.

PMM,

Can you explain a little bit what you mean about CONJUGAL PARTNER? Actually when my GF arrived here in Canada with me I will really marry her right away.

Can you advice me what the right thing to do?

THANKS A LOT!

Conjugal relationship is when you and your partner have lived together for at least a year but are not married. From what I hear, it's a harder avenue to take when it comes to bringing in your loved one, but that's just what I hear - no real fact to back that up.

You said when your girlfriend arrives in Canada you will marry her. Perhaps a better idea is to marry her, and then apply as a spouse. What country is she coming in from? The most challenging part of applying as a spouse is to show enough evidence to prove your relationship is genuine.

My GF is from Philippines she never been married. And I am also from Philippines (NO DEVORCE LAW), I am now in PR in Canada for 2 years already and my devorce here is on process. Do think that I can get my GF as my CONJUGAL PARTNER?

THANKS

If your divorce is in process that means you are still married, therefor no, you can't. You can't be married in Canada AND have a conjugal relationship. And as a specific requirement to meet the category of conjugal partner, you have to be living with your partner for at least a solid year before you can apply.

We been together for more than 3yrs we already have as son actually we been living for a year together to here parents house that's why I don't have any contract or lease proof, she prepared to stay to her parents since that my PR VISA going to Canada was coming that time.

I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH IF THERE'S SOMEBODY CAN SHARE THERE EXPERIENCE SAME AS MINE.

thanks!

i think you guys are thinking common law arent you? common lay is where you have to live togehter a year adn arent married, conjugal is where you can not get married due to religious or other reasons like fearing for your life etc.

if you have lived togehter for a year then you are considered common law

I'm still waiting my devorce to be finalized. When my devorce finalized can I sponsor my common-law right away?

YOU OPINION/ADVICE IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.. thanks!

Mr Alone

I think your best chance of sponsoring your GF would be to wait until you are divorced and then marry her and start an application with her as your legal wife.

dear MrAlone,

I think also that your divorce have to be finalized before you sponsor your GF and you need the original marriage certificates to submit to the canadian high commission, it is mandatory to send marriage certificate without it you can not sponsor her.
