I would like to ask few question about work permit application. Hope you can help me.
My husband's future company is proceeding through the Global Talent Stream. He has a job offer and the LMIA is already positive, he got confirmation last week.
1) How much time does he have to apply for a work permit ? LMIA is valid until May 2020 but on the website it was mentioned that applicants should apply as soon as they get LMIA. We want to do it asap but there are some questions that we can't find the answers to anywhere.
2) As we understand, I (his wife) will need to apply at the same time as he, but I won't be able to go to Canada at the same time as he is. Is there a time limit between an application or a positive decision and the time when you need to enter Canada? I am planning to come next May or June with our kids, he should be able to go around February. His work permit will be processed within two weeks time due to GTS.
Maybe it is better for me to apply later, while he is already in Canada?
3) Do we need to make biometrics, if we have biometric passports? Is there any time limit for doing it? As I live in UK we will need to book an appointment in London and I am not sure how soon we can get it.
