My job title is IT help desk and hourly wage is 29.92$.

I want to talk to my employer for LMIA. But want to clear off some doubts before i set a meeting with them.

With recent changes, i know we have to check if someone falls under low or high wage LMIA? But what does median LMIA mean and why does it matter?

I live in waterloo and median wage for job title is 30$ and high wage 36$ (Link attached).

Does it mean i am not eligible for lmia? And how the eligibility is decided - based on general minimum pay of Ontario or based on pay of job title? Thanks in advance! Any responses would be appreciated.

Check the LMIA site for new rules but it is based on the government’s wage for Ontario not the NOC. Believe Ontario is $34 per hour so you are low wage. If where you live, employment is below 6% then you may be eligible. Also they will have to start the recruitment process over.
