In this page http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/italy-italie/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

It says

Right of Permanent Residence (to be paid at the end of the processing) 490 CAD = 390 euros

But the page says "Euros and Canadian dollars (exchange rate - July 16, 2012)". So when I paid this fee a week ago (end of October) should I have followed this rate that is 4 months old or what my bank said that equals 490 CAD at the specific date?

thanks

If you paid by Euros, you should follow the particular days' conversion rate.

can you explain why this is? It is clearly outdated and the rates have changed now. Why should we follow a 4-month-old rate?

Also, since we made a mistake with the fee (if we did) how do we correct it now?

you have to follow the CIC web site rate until the page/rate has been revised by them.Just make a copy of that page and include with you payment ,thats it.

we have already paid the rprf but it is with up to date rates and NOT July 2012 which i think makes more sense. Could someone give an official answer please on what we should have done and if we have made a mistake, what we should do now?

if you paid more than or equal to 390,it would be ok ,if less, your draft would be returned and you will be advised to pay the actual amount

how did YOU confirm it?

_____________

anyone experienced? should we contact them and ask them what to do or wait for them? It's been over a week since we sent our passports and rprf and no news

Hi Vangelis,

PMM and bundoo are correct.....you need to pay 390 Euro for your RPRF fees.....irrespective of when the conversion rates were decided and posted on CIC website.
