fee payment for first year

I read it in one of the sites that canadian embassy is now asking students to pay full first year fee instead of first semester along with GIC , anyone who had complied or is it a new rule

y you are going for some other site, check in the embassy site only, in the spp / gen study permit check list section.
Its clearly mentioned that first term payment in enough.
