HI,

Shortly about my situation:

- A recent graduate (Master's) from one of the Canadian Universities and got my Post Graduate Work Permit
- Desperately trying to find a job with my field, but no luck yet so got a temporary job in fastfood ??? :-[. My situation is below:

I have found a temporary job in fastfood (kitchen help/food counter attendant); and I know that this position should be in the C category listed. I just wanted to ask your advice and would love to hear your suggestions regarding the situation that I am in.

I have a 4+ years of work experience before coming to Canada, and now I got my Master's degree. In this case, the only option that's available for me in order to apply for the PR is the Federal Skilled Workers?
However, I also would like to have other options too; and one of these alternatives is to gain some work experience and apply under this category as a Canadian Work Experience category!?.

My concern is that knowing that I am not going to find a job with my field right away, and working for other temporary jobs that are listed in the C category, what are my chances of getting PR under the category C? I have had some work experience in other categories (Engineering, which I believe either A or B?) and now I have recently received my Master's degree in Engineering as well.

What are the chances if I decide to apply for the EE with Federal Skilled category (am I correct) without waiting to gain some Canadian Work Experience; or should I have the Canadian experience working for any jobs that are listed in the NOC specifically the C category, and apply under this category despite I have work experience and master's degree from a Canadian University in Engineering?

If I apply for the EE under the Federal Skilled category and my application gets rejected, let's say, am I then eligible to apply under the Canadian work experience category? Please help me to clarify this! :-\ :-\ PS. I may have written the names of the categories incorrectly, sorry for that...

You can start by learning about the economic immigration programs offered by CIC/IRCC, there is a lot of information on their website. For Express Entry -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/

For any of the express entry programs, work experience has to be "skilled" (NOC O, A, or B) work experience at level C will not benefit you (unless it leads to a skilled position).

For the CEC program, you must have a minimum of 1 year of full-time skilled work experience.

You can certainly see if you are qualified using your foreign work experience, but you also must have enough points to earn an invitation to apply.

"Canada" is a big place, it helps to specify the province you are in, perhaps there are provincial nominee programs that would benefit you as well.
