Hi. I am from south Africa. I been targeted few time and been living here on day to day fear of getting killed. Can I claim asylum in Canada. If I got Visa how do I claim for asylum there. Can I declare my funds if I have? Will it make different in my status of asylum if i have enough fund for my whole family?

Funds are irrelevant - you can still claim asylum. Not sure I understand what you mean by status.

Not necessarily advisable until your claim is accepted (18-24 months). Until then, you have no status in Canada. If your claim is rejected (including appeals), you will be required to leave.

Buying a house isn't a good idea until your claim is accepted. You may be forced to leave and end up with a property in Canada that's difficult to manage / sell without being there in person.

To open a business, you generally need a Canadian partner. If you want to open a business, you get advice from a small business attorney on what you need to do to properly and legally structure the business.

Just an FYI: South Africa is considered a relatively safe country and chances of refusal are quite high. Only 38 of 260ish asylum claims accepted in 2018.

You are also expected to move to another region of SA to seek safety or you could be rejected just on those grouds. I would encourage you to contact a few Canadian immigration lawyers to get advice about your case. Have you looked into other methods of immigration?
