Does anyone know how long it is taking to get FBI fingerprints back

Thanks

Long!! I just saw it on their page and processing time is around 16 Weeks! :O ...hope I'm wrong tho

I spoke to them about 3 weeks ago and was told [then] that it was about 9 weeks. Some have reported recently that it was closer to 6 weeks.

ok! I like your answer better!! Maybe their website info is outdated...:)

It was 6 weeks earlier last year before the government shutdown. After things resumed, there was a backlog to clear through. That, in addition to additional cuts in resources, made times spike to 9-10 weeks.

You're not waiting for your PCC before you send in your application are you VioletBlue?

Because of your urgency, you should just include a short note with your application stating that your PCC has been ordered and will be sent to CIC when you receive it.
It might be a good idea to at least have your fingerprints taken ASAP (about $40 +/-), so that you can include a copy of the receipt with your note.

Thanks for all the info....we are putting our app together now and I am trying to time receiving the prints when the app is ready and not have to wait too long after.(or get them too soon) I am sponsering my hubby (US) and we are going to Canada in Feb to have his medical done.....much cheaper there than in the U.S. and we are going to pick up letters from family and friends at the same time

Just letting you know our timeline:

Request sent by DHL and received by FBI on October 18, 2013.

We received the report by regular mail (in Alberta Canada) on December 12, 2013.

Oh gawnNo! Not waiting ! But will have a copy of prints and a receiptvincl so they can see I've submitted it!

Luckily canadian record check will only tale 3 days...they have some Electronic fingerprinting thing that's way faster than regular!

:)

I don't believe you need to worry about the Canadian PCC (RCMP) unless CIC asks for one specifically. They have a way to check on their end.

Do u think submitting all the proof I have of trying to restore my status over the years is a good idea?? So they can see I didn't just sit around doing nothing but that I tried few times

Hard to say, but I suspect that it would depend on what you actually did to try to restore your status. If all you did was search the internet for answers, or made a couple of phone calls...it likely wouldn't be of any value.

Since Lack of Status isn't going to prevent your Inland application from being approved anyway, it may be a moot point.

Oh no it was more than that....I submitted an application...have receipts of fee payment and even letters from CIC...also applies for LMO....just thinking I might add that too cuz CBSA guys asked if I ever tried to restore it...I did. And I have a proof...not like I just let it expire and did nothing about it ...might get a tiny Plus for that :)

I have found two different addresses to sent the FBI prints to. Anyone know the correct one

Thanks
