I have seen other posts on this subject but most were 5-6 years old and I am hoping their are some suggestions to help. Our original submission of fingerprints done at our local police station were rejected so we did 4 different prints the next time we submitted and the officer was very careful and made sure they were dark enough, however, all of them were rejected again. After 5 rejections I am not optimistic another submission will be accepted and we are concerned waiting another 13 weeks will put our spousal residency application in jeopardy. We did some research and found there are FBI Approved Channeler organizations that process faster. Does anyone know if they are acceptable for CIC? We also may try going direct to an FBI field office and see if they can do the fingerprints. My wife has had 3-4 previous FBI clearances for employment reasons in the past and never had a problem so I am having a hard time understanding why it is so difficult to get proper fingerprints now to get the Identity History clearance needed. Any suggestions?

yes, CIC is now accepting channeler reports from specific US based channelers. I think you can find the list on the CIC website, and it may even be mentioned in the country specific instructions about the police clearance. i'm sure someone (ahem Ponga) will come around and can provide a specific link. Since you are having major issues with getting the report directly from the FBI, this may be your best option.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your fingerprints. That sounds frustrating. If you are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the US, you may use a FBI Approved Channeler. Here is a list of approved Channelers: https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/compact-council/list-of-approved-channelers
