FBI Clearance Letter Submission

Hi All,

I'm currently 5 months into my express entry application to Canada and I've hit a hurdle.

As soon as I applied for Express Entry (Oct 15) I applied for my required FBI background Check.

I received it late Feb and sent an email to the Ottawa office stating I could now give them the document if it was still required (my application is sitting at background check pending)

I received an email today from CIC which turned out to be a request for information for my FBI clearance letter. I went to upload it and it is asking for an issue and expiration date of my FBI background check.

What is this? My background check has none of these on here. It was issued to me on the 16th of Feb 2016 however the drop down dates do not even allow 2016 to be input.

It also has no expiration date on the document and the CIC website will not allow it to be uploaded without these two dates.

Anyone else have this problem? The call centre just gave me the standard "use the webform" answer which isn't helpful.

are you sure you put the correct date FEB2016? sorry for silly question but sometimes this is an issue..

also try calling again - as the operator on the line change, and some of them have way more knowledge than the others.

The problem is that entering the dates in done by 3 drop down menus.

The day and month drop downs are fine, the year drop down menu only goes up to 2015. 2016 is not an option.

The second issue is that it asks for an expiry date which does not exist.

I will try and call again, I don't hold high hopes of getting more information from them though.

Issue faced by others as well. Folks have selected last available dates and some have included LOE. It's a widely known and discussed technical glitch. Please search for FBI PCC threads and you will come across some of the posts. Shouldn't be a problem. Best wishes.

They are currently opening applications received November 17, so it will be a while.
Hopefully yours get accepted and you can proceed with the application without further delays

Submitted EE profile on 04 March 2016. Sound like out of all docs in the entire process, this FBI PCC doc is the most worrying (in terms of time taken to get it delivered) :-[
