Dear Experts,

I am PR in Canada and my passport has father's name as xyzADDC

My brother is applying for study visa and his passport has father's name as xyzABC

So there is a difference of ADDC and ABC.

do you think this is a problem. As its already July, what should we do - Do you think passport name change is achievable in such a short span?

Kindly share your advice.

Thanks

If in India, tatkal takes 7 days only, as long as all documents are OK.
I would always recommend to fix the problem before applying.

I just checked all the docs again - all my documents (living in Canada) has JEET starting from 10th, 10+2, degree, PAN Card etc.

And my brother's document has JIT starting from 10th, Diploma, degree.

Even if I go for name change on his passport, how would we justify other documents then like transcripts etc

That's a bad situation. Nothing comes to my mind other than submitting the application and hoping that VO will never find out.

If applicant's birth certificate, father's id and family information form match with each other, there is still some hope.

Father id means??

do they access brother file who is already in canada? And check?

Because my brother who wants to come has ABC in all docs but I have ADDC

Father's identity card / passport.

They can access your file, if they have a suspicion. I am banking on the possibility that they won't if your brother provides well coordinated documents with no mismatch in spelling. He still stands a chance.

Dad passed away in 2012. There is no passport. :-(

Sorry to hear that, my friend.

Then just family information form is the only thing to be submitted, along with applicant's passport. He may slip through, there is a good chance. Good luck!

I am sure you can find someone to do an affidavit of your documents. The person can write that this is the same person with different spelling's etc.
