I am sponsoring my wife as a permanent resident, and I just noticed that my father's last name has a typo in my marriage certificate. His Last name is "SIBGHATULLAH" but is spelled without the letter "G" in the marriage certificate as "SIBGATULLAH". Should i get this remade or would that be not important or noticeable since i am sponsoring my wife and all her info is correct on the marriage certificate?

Have you applied yet? If not, better to get replaced before. But if it will take a long time, it probably will be okay to submit as is with a short letter of explanation AND that you have applied for a corrected version (and to do so) and will submit when corrected version available. Does that document contain his birth date as well? Correct birth date?

Context is that it's not probably a big deal if all other identifying info is correct on all other documents. But to a minor degree in some jurisdictions might be considered important in identifying an exact person.

(For some cases where a very common name with multiple similar spellings also more relevant)

Good luck

Thank you @armoured for your response - I have not applied yet. I have not applied yet, but just spotted it last night. It will delay my sponsorship application submission a little but I think it might be worth it given lead times are so long right now? If they don't accept it, it might lead to issues later on. I am also applying for my taxes just to get a notice of assessment for the year 2020 as well, because i read on some threads that there package was returned just because the most recent Notice of assessment was not shown. Since i will be waiting for that, might as well get this fixed.

You should definitely apply to get a corrected version. If you decide later to submit your app without the corrected version, you can show the documentation that you've applied for it.
