is it possible to lodge spouse visa application at a visa post other than home country fo fast processiong i.e Islamabad HC is taking for ever to process spouse visa, can one apply at CHC China or London CHC instaed?

Sorry..PR must be processed at the Visa office responsible for the applicants country of birth/Nationality..with the exception of Buffalo..if your spouse was admitted to Canada for 1 year or longer you may apply through Buffalo

Sorry, that is not quite correct. You can either apply at the visa office responsible for your country of nationality OR the visa office responsible for the country where you are currently residing if you have been legally admitted for a period of at least one year.

So chau01, to answer your question, no you cannot simply choose the fastest processing office, otherwise no one would ever be applying at one of the slower visa offices, right? You would only be able to apply at the CHC in China or the UK if you have been legally admitted to either country for a period of at least one year.
